About Me

Nick Hiebert Profile Picture

Hello, I’m Nick Hiebert;

I am a specialized front-end web developer and Google certified specialist. Having gone through post-secondary twice, contract positions and one full-time position I have developed a variety of skills. The obtained skills can be categorized in four categories: Analytics (Google Analytics, Google Tag Manager, Search Console, Search Engine Optimization), Design (Photoshop, Illustrator, Sketch), NPM (Git, Github, Node.JS, GulpJS) and Development (HTML/CSS, SCSS, JavaScript, jQuery, Responsive Design, WordPress, React, Angular/TypeScript, PHP/MySQL).

Like all developers, we become very good at particular languages, frameworks, and consist of minimal or fundamental understanding of other languages. My top strengths in development are based on front-end development and Search Engine Optimization (SEO). But being a developer is kind of like fashion (it’s never finished) and my dedicated efforts to become more diverse with new up incoming JavaScript frameworks such as React, NPM (NodeJS), automated task-runners such as GulpJS and utilizing Syntactically Awesome Style Sheets (SASS/SCSS) for better-streamlined CSS.

With my dedication, perseverance, and passion towards building innovative web applications, I feel I can make a great contribution to web development, marketing agencies in Calgary. The skills page consists of an overview of my expertise and will continue to grow over time.

Keeping Relevance

Weeknights and weekends are spent learning and practicing new JavaScript frameworks such as React, GulpJS, NodeJS using the Udemy e-learning platform. My long-term goal is to work for varies web development/or marketing agencies that embrace innovation and are passionate about what they do. Also to work on side-hustles (improving my skills, creating new projects, and blog posts) consistently.

Current Status

Since March 2018, I have been involved with HustleCo Workspace as a Marketing Intern. With my analytical experience with SEO and Google Analytics, my days are mainly spent learning Google AdWords and assisting the other interns with WordPress/technical support and Search Engine Optimization (SEO).
